Interview with Coloplast
In July 2024, I was interviewed by Coloplast about my journey with a stoma and the creation of Poowelz . It was a special moment, as I spoke candidly about my health struggles from the age of fourteen, the impact of my ileostomy, and how I turned it into something positive.
After years of hospital visits and a diagnosis of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, a stoma in 2022 proved to be my last hope for a decent life. It wasn't an easy choice, but it ultimately gave me back my freedom.
In the interview, I share how I started making ostomy covers because I didn't want to hide my bag. What started as something for myself grew into Poowelz: colorful covers with a playful twist, with which I aim to break the taboo surrounding ostomies. The reactions? Heartwarming. From teenagers to grandchildren ordering a cover for their grandfather.
My stoma hasn't limited me; it's actually allowed me to grow. I hope others experience that too.
